Mediation and Dispute Resolution
Mediation and Dispute Resolution

PAR offers mediator training in even numbered years. The next session, scheduled for March 2008, will be limited to 30 participants.  Registration information will be provided as it is available.

The lists below contain the names of members who have been through the PAR mediation training seminars and have agreed to have their contact information listed for local Associations who may wish to contact them about being mediators.

Please keep in mind the following rules regarding mediation and the use of these lists:

  • Individuals who have completed the PAR training may, if they choose, serve as DRS Mediators, Professional Standards Mediators or both. PAR suggests that anyone mediating for the Arbitration process be conversant in Professional Standards policy.

  • Mediators are selected by the local association.  Local associations are free to accept individuals who have not taken the PAR training and are also permitted to require that members who have taken the PAR training also take some supplemental training.  Simply completing the PAR course does not automatically qualify a member to mediate with their local association.

  • Local associations negotiate the terms of service directly with any mediator they select for their association pool of mediators. Generally, mediators who serve for DRS are paid by the parties.  Whether Professional Standards mediators are paid depends on local association policy.
