Code of Ethics Changes Pending

Changes to the NAR Code of Ethics are made almost every year. Several important additions regarding broker and agent web sites for 2007 were approved by the NAR Board of Directors at its meeting in May. 

One of the changes would require all brokers and agents to display their state of licensure on their web sites. The other would require that brokers and agents use reasonable efforts to ensure that the information on their web sites is current and accurate and to take appropriate remedial action when they find out otherwise.

Because these changes could still be altered by the board at the upcoming meeting in November, it is premature to publish the specific language. Once the changes are approved by NAR, further information will be posted on the PAR web site and published in a future issue of The Pennsylvania REALTOR®.
