Avoiding An $11,000 Fine

Do Not Call:

Avoiding An $11,000 Fine

by Rachel Shepherd

Imagine being fined $11,000. That’s the same cost as a Sony DSR-500WS camera package, a freshman year at Penn State University and the projected cost of health care per person by the year 2011.

Federal and state governments have implemented DNC laws that can fine violators up $11,000 for a single violation. If that seems steep, then look into DNC Quickcheck.

DNC Quickcheck is a PA REALTOR® Advantage partner, which allows the user to tackle all the DNC regulatory requirements to help protect against violations of state and federal DNC laws. This Internet-based service is especially important to those who regularly call prospects such as referrals and expired listings.

DNC Quickcheck allows the user to complete the obvious transactions such as typing numbers in the directory and receiving a compliant list of phone numbers. But it also allows for online training on the DNC laws, accessing information regarding call time restrictions for specific geographic areas and integrating DNC requests into a corporate database.

PAR’s web site, www.parealtor.org has a link to the DNC web site in its Member Benefits section. Members will receive a 50-percent discount on the $19.95 cost to use the service. Please note: DNC Quickcheck allows the user to search both state and federal DNC lists.
